Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Sit Down Forklift Operator to join our dynamic warehouse team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating a sit-down forklift to load, unload, and transport materials within the warehouse environment. Your expertise will ensure efficient materials handling, accurate order picking, and seamless shipping and receiving operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong warehouse experience, mechanical knowledge, and a commitment to safety standards to support our operational excellence.

Duties

• Safely operate sit-down forklifts to load and unload trucks, pallets, and containers in compliance with OSHA regulations.
• Perform order picking using RF scanners and warehouse management systems to fulfill customer orders accurately.
• Load and unload heavy materials using appropriate equipment such as clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and crane attachments when necessary.
• Assist with shipping and receiving processes by verifying incoming shipments and preparing outgoing orders.
• Conduct routine maintenance checks on heavy equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
• Handle materials with care during transportation within the warehouse, including heavy lifting tasks.
• Support warehouse management by organizing inventory, replenishing stock, and maintaining a clean work environment.

Requirements

• Proven experience operating sit-down forklifts in a warehouse or construction setting.
• Knowledge of warehouse distribution processes, order picking, and materials handling techniques.
• Familiarity with heavy equipment operation including cranes, clamp trucks, and pallet jacks.
• Understanding of OSHA safety standards related to forklift operation and warehouse safety.
• Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot basic equipment issues.
• Experience using RF scanners and warehouse management systems for inventory control.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in order picking and shipping/receiving tasks.
• Prior experience in warehouse supervision or management is a plus but not required.
