Job Description

Armand Corporation, an award-winning M/WBE Construction Management firm celebrating over 34 years in the industry, is seeking a full-time Senior Graphic Designer   to lead the creation of visually compelling designs that communicate key information about GDC’s work across multiple platforms. The Senior Graphic Designer will work closely with the Public Affairs team and members of other departments to produce both static and motion graphics to support public-facing communication. The ideal candidate turns complex ideas into intuitive, beautiful designs (infographics, fact sheets, social/social media graphics, presentations, website, short animations), ensuring consistency, quality, and creativity in every deliverable.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of  professional experience in graphic design in a communications, agency, nonprofit, or related setting.

If selected, candidates will need to provide digital proof of licensure and certification for all U.S.-based accolades, including academic degree, before time of interview. Information provided is handled with discretion and will be used purely for benefit of employment with various government agency clients and associated background checks.

This position will be full-time, on-site. Candidates are expected to live in or near the  New York metropolitan area.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Design, develop, and deliver static visual content: fact sheets, infographics, printed collateral, reports, presentation decks, social media assets, and other assets as needed.
  • Create motion graphics and simple animations/video content (e.g. animated infographics, GIFs, short motion spots).
  • Translate data, research findings, and strategy into accessible, engaging visual narratives.
  • Work cross-functionally with public affairs, procurement, program delivery, and other teams to understand goals, audiences, and messaging.
  • Lead creative concepting sessions; propose visual solutions that align with campaign objectives, brand, and voice.
  • Plan, execute, and manage design projects from idea through production: set timelines, handle feedback loops, ensure deadlines are met.
  • Maintain and evolve brand guidelines and ensure all outputs adhere to visual identity, tone, accessibility, and usability standards.
  • Review and proof graphic deliverables for accuracy, consistency, and quality across all platforms.
  • Stay current with design trends, motion graphics, software tools, accessibility standards, and emerging formats.
  • Provide design guidance and feedback to freelancers as needed.
  • Research, recommend, and help to introduce new tools, processes, or practices that enhance design workflows and output quality.

QUALIFICATIONS include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, visual communication, fine arts, or related field; or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in graphic design in a communications, agency, nonprofit, or related setting.
  • Strong portfolio with examples of both static and motion design: infographics, fact sheets, report design, social media work, simple animation or video/motion graphics.
  • Expert proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)
  • Experience in motion graphics/video tools (After Effects, Premiere Pro, or similar)
  • Familiarity with design for web/digital, including social media dimensions, responsive layouts, exporting for different platforms.
  • Comfort with prototyping or simple animation tools; ability to work with motion templates.
  • Strong visual thinking: ability to conceptualize and distill complex content into clear graphics.
  • Excellent communication skills: can present design concepts, accept feedback, and articulate design rationale.
  • Comfortable multitasking: managing multiple projects, priorities, and stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail, especially in maintaining brand consistency, accuracy of information, and visual polish.
  • Team player: collaborative, proactive, and adaptable to changing priorities.
  • Bonus: experience or interest in UX/UI basics, video storytelling, or motion graphics beyond simple animation.
