Position Title:Intern - Family Services Specialist

Minimum Salary: $20.53 per hour

*APPLICANT MUST BE A CURRENT PART-TIME OR FULL-TIME STUDENT (MINIMUM OF 6 CREDIT HOURS) IN UPCOMING SEMESTER OR IN THE IMMEDIATELY PRECEDING SEMESTER.

What you will do:

• transport families or customers to visits, appointments or meetings;
• supervise family visits and provide parental coaching on appropriate child interactions;
• conduct home safety checks with foster and kinship providers and clients;
• possible testimony at a court proceeding;
• provides support to Family Services Specialists;
• develop and maintain effective client relationships;
• shadow Family Services Specialists;
• obtain and maintain information resources for clients;
• organize, prepare and update case files and basic records;
• prepare other program documents and forms.

Qualifications:
Applicant must be enrolled as a part-time/full-time student at a college, university, or technical institute at the time they apply. By the start of the internship, the student should have completed one year (nine months) of their chosen program.

All students are encouraged to apply, but preference may be given to applicants with a standing of junior/senior, South Dakota residents, and students of South Dakota institutions.
