Instructional Designer - Part Time

Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for the development and delivery of training programs for Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems. Educates healthcare staff including clinicians and administrative personnel on the effective use of EMR software to ensure accurate documentation data entry and compliance with regulatory standards. Creates training materials conducts hands-on training sessions provides ongoing support and assesses training effectiveness. Enhances user proficiency improves patient care through effective EMR utilization and facilitates the successful adoption of technology within the organization.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Design and deliver onboarding education for new hires: ensuring consistency quality and alignment with organizational standards.
• Evaluate lessons learned across programs and implement process improvements to enhance educational effectiveness.
• Create and update EMR education resources such as tip sheets videos and presentations ensuring accuracy under guidance from senior staff.
• Support the maintenance of the EMR training environment including preparing updates performing basic troubleshooting and reporting issues to the manager.
• Lead workflow analysis and review feasibility of educational components for large-scale projects; provide recommendations to optimize training phases.
• Provide administrative and logistical support for Curriculum Review Board (CRB) meetings such as scheduling preparing materials and documenting decisions.

Contributes to the development of goals for the job area and planning efforts (budgets operational plans etc.). May manage large technical projects or processes that span outside of immediate job area.

Responsible for making moderate to significant improvements of technical processes systems or products to enhance performance of the job area. Problems and issues faced are numerous and undefined and require detailed information gathering analysis and investigation to understand the problem. Problems are difficult and moderately complex. Problems typically are within team/job area specific processes. Problems are typically solved through drawing from prior experience and analysis of issues.
• COMMUNICATION & INFLUENCE: Communicates with parties within and outside of own job area. Typically has responsibility for communicating with parties external to IS&T and Jefferson which may include customers or vendors. Works to influence parties within and outside of the job area at an operational level regarding policies procedures and practices.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education - Required

• High School Diploma/GED

Education - Preferred

• Bachelors Degree Computer Science or related field or
• Masters Degree Computer Science or related field

Experience - Required

• 7 years related work experience

Experience - Preferred

• 10 years instructional designer credentialed trainer educator or related work experience

Licenses and Certifications - Required

• EPIC Certification - Epic Systems Upon Hire
