Job Summary

The BIM Coordination Manager is a senior, operations‑embedded leadership role responsible for overseeing the company’s BIM coordination and modeling efforts across active projects. This position ensures BIM deliverables are accurate, timely, well‑coordinated, and aligned with construction sequencing and execution needs.

Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, the BIM Coordination Manager leads BIM personnel, establishes standards and workflows, and works closely with Project Managers and external stakeholders to proactively identify and resolve coordination risks. As Benchmark continues to expand its digital construction capabilities, this role is expected to evolve into broader digital construction leadership responsibilities.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage BIM Coordinators and Modelers, including staffing, training, performance oversight, and workload balancing.
  • Develop, maintain, and enforce BIM standards, coordination procedures, and quality control processes across projects.
  • Lead inter‑trade and intra‑trade BIM coordination efforts, including clash detection and coordination meetings.
  • Oversee development and coordination of 3D models and BIM‑derived deliverables, including construction drawings, shop drawings, and as‑built documentation.
  • Ensure BIM models and outputs remain current, accurate, and aligned with the latest project information.
  • Proactively identify coordination risks, clashes, and information gaps, and collaborate with Project Managers and project partners to resolve issues efficiently.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for BIM‑related matters with clients, designers, contractors, and subcontractors.
  • Support estimating and preconstruction efforts by providing BIM technical input during client interviews and scope reviews.
  • Drive consistent, reliable BIM execution while supporting controlled improvements to workflows and tools.
  • Perform other duties and tasks as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 7–10 years of experience in BIM modeling and coordination within construction or infrastructure environments.
  • Demonstrated experience leading BIM coordination on complex, multi‑disciplinary projects.
  • Proven people‑management and team leadership experience.
  • Proficiency with industry‑standard BIM tools, including Autodesk Revit, Civil 3D, Navisworks, AutoCAD, and Autodesk Construction Cloud.
  • Strong understanding of BIM coordination workflows, clash detection, model management, and version control.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills in fast‑paced, operations‑driven environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting construction‑led or design‑build projects, particularly underground utility or infrastructure work in the mission critical sector.
  • Experience coordinating across multiple designers, contractors, and subcontractors.
